Inspired by Richard Florida's Rise of the Creative Class, I am starting a blog to facilitate 21st Century learning for students in my microeconomics and macroeconomics classes. The next class will begin in August, but I am starting this in June to get a feel for what I can do with this medium. I am helped by the collaboration of a colleague, Dr. Paula Porter.
Economics is obviously my passion , but so too are mathematics, particularly algebra, and education.
Students of economics might notice how these interests converge in human capital.

- A 1970 graduate (BA math education)of the University of Delaware, I continued immediately to Virginia Tech where I completed a MA in economics. Later, in the 21st century I took 19 credit hours of math education at the master's level online from Florida State. I have worked in public school education, community college education, small business (sales), municipal government (analysis), large multinational corporation (home office support, family business franchise (sales)and currently in for-profit higher education.
This is exciting, to have a resource like you will help students improve their grades in economic classes...
